Fixed Income and Cash
Creating individual investment structures from low risk, liquid, income generating opportunities
Atrium’s fundamental investment and valuation process is focused on identifying investments that will deliver attractive investment returns across the spectrum of investments, covering fixed income securities, cash and term deposits.
Flexibility is at the heart of what we offer and we can create a range of investment structures to suit individual investor requirements.
Portfolios are managed on an active basis and invested across a range of issuers and security types, providing diversification across industry sectors, interest rates and credit risks.
When managing assets, we remain focused on actively managing risks that will impede the investment objectives being met, such as the level of credit risk and interest rate risk. We carefully focus on liquidity risk, given our clients’ desire to maintain high degrees of potential liquidity at all times.
We believe that opportunities accrue as a result of:
- The ability to take exposures for which there are smaller investor-bases, as this tends to improve pricing. This can include below Investment Grade, illiquid, bilaterally-negotiated, and non-AUD exposures, each of which tends to be somewhat difficult for Australian institutional investors to access, and hence more attractively priced; and
- The lack of a requirement to benchmark against fixed duration benchmarks. Duration can be taken when attractive, but is not a core driver of portfolio outcomes.
